everything is on queue

I never realized how common it is to wait.

You wait all the time, for your coffee, for your change, for the bus, for your dreams, for opportunities, for better days, for recovery, for the right time to cross the street, for your train ticket, for the next word your professor will say because he talks so slow, for the response of your boss because it’s taking too long, for the punchline, for the next episode of a weekly television show, for death, for five in the afternoon, for Friday, for the person you love even if he or she is sitting next to you, and then you wait for somebody who’s far, miles away. And you realize how much you waited all your life. Or why you’re willing to wait for the rest of your life, even if that person will never ever come back.
